California Gold Rush Trail

Choose an archetype, name your party and buy supplies. Oxen pull the wagon; food keeps the party going. Use Continue Trail to travel one day, Rest to recover, and Hunt Game to gather meat. Pace and rations trade progress against your supplies and health.

In the hunting minigame, click or tap animals to shoot. At the goldfields, click the gold nuggets to claim them, then calculate your score. Sound can be turned off in the game header. High scores are saved only in this browser when storage is available.

The route, events and remedies are fictional game mechanics. This is a lighthearted riff on the trail-game tradition, not a faithful account of a particular expedition or a guide to treating illness. Read the Gold Rush field notes for the historical thread.
