KNOW WHO’S BEHIND THE DOOR

The sheriff’s field guide.

Three rules between you and a long retirement.

01 / THE HONEST FOLKS

Let the money come to you.

Farmers and townsfolk automatically deposit gold. Collect one deposit at each of the nine doors. Move between sections with O / P or the arrows when every door is shut.

02 / THE BAD COMPANY

Watch the hands. Then fire.

Press 1, 2 or 3, or tap the corresponding door. Some outlaws arrive armed. Others wait to draw. Shoot a customer or fire before a pistol appears and you lose a life.

03 / THE WILD CARDS

Keep something under your hat.

From shift two, shoot off all five stacked hats. Shoot the gold beneath for a deposit; leave a bomb untouched. Fill the ledger, then survive three duellists to earn a life and a $500 bonus.

About this recreation +

An independent, browser-native tribute to West Bank by Dinamic Software. This edition uses nine doors in the spirit of the Amstrad CPC version, newly drawn pixel graphics and synthesized sound. It is a reinterpretation, not an emulator or a frame-exact port.

Two days, nine shifts per day. New characters arrive as you advance; the final two shifts of each day take place at night. Five lives maximum. Pause with Esc or Space, mute with M. Switching away pauses the game. High scores are kept locally for each difficulty when browser storage is available.

The game itself makes no network requests, uses no analytics and stores only scores and the sound preference. Hosting may have its own access and logging behavior. Original game names and history are credited to their respective creators. Read the original instructions ↗
